roads, routes and going places
West Germany has far better cycling routes. I struggle each morning uphill to the Uni, waiting till it gets less painful. It should after a few months, right? I have seen some progress after the first four weeks on my new Bergsteiger bike. I had quite a cycling adventure in Paris in summer 2023.
During quiet weekends, London cycling routes are quite enjoyable; on weekdays they are exciting :-)
It never gets easier, you just get faster. Hmmm ...
This is the first one that actually fits my height. But it is wobbly for non-handed.
I also regret I never followed the recommendations from early school tests which predicted that I should have professional interests closer to the natural world instead of sign systems.
I am less into sports and training, and more about going places. But I do register my big endeavours on Strava.
I am looking for company to do the rides Wolves-Birmingham, Bath-Bristol and coast-to-coast. There were dreams of going down the Danube and in the Carpathians, but it looks like it is not happening any time soon.
